Favourite Books
I love reading!
There are so many wonderful books to read, it's hard to know where to start! Perhaps the best people to ask which books are fun to read are other children.
So at the end of the last school year, the children in Year 2 were asked, "What was your favourite book of all in the School library?". |
These are the books that they chose.
| 1 | Charlie and the Chocolate Factory | by Roald Dahl |
| 2 | George's Marvellous Medicine | by Roald Dahl |
| 3 | Katie in London | by James Mayhew |
| 4 | Sophie in the Saddle | by Dick King-Smith |
| 5 | 5 Minutes' Peace | by Jill Murphy |
| 6 | The Gruffalo, & The Gruffalo's Child | by Julia Donaldson |
| 7 | The Magic Faraway Tree | by Enid Blyton |
Other books that children mentioned that they liked included:
Have You Got My Purr? by Judy West & Tim Warner
Jumble the Puppy by Anthony Lashal
The Story of the Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business
by Werner Holzwarth and Wolf Erlbruch
Crystal the Snow Fairy by Daisy Meadows
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis
Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett
Angelina Ballerina's 'Invitation to the Ballet' by Katharine Holabird and Helen Craig
A Game of Two Halves by Tim Glynne-Jones
The Enggler Treatment by Roddy Doyle
Harry and the Roberts by Ian Wybrow
Clickety Clack by Anthony Lishak
The Hobbit by JRR Tolkien
The 'Unfortunate Event' series of books by Lemony Snicket
The Mr Men and Little Miss stories by Roger Hargreaves
the 'Horrid Henry' books by Francesca Simon
I hope you enoy reading these as much as last year's Year 2 children did!
